How do I know that what I believe is true? Well, I could never in a million years prove it to any one person, nor is it my intention or desire. I came about my truth through following what I’m passionately curious about, sorting through and discerning the information through my intellect and intuition, and connecting the dots (experiences) as they came into my life– oh, and working through the fear that arose as I came to an understanding of our world that is stranger than fiction at times. This is, I suspect, exactly the same process that you are going through, as are many other people at this time, as we try to find our truth about ourselves and our world. It is a highly individual and personal journey undertaken (or not) by each person.

But I do understand where the question is coming from, and I’d like to recommend two websites (which you’re already aware of, Judy); http://www.divinecosmos.com and http://www.stevebeckow.com. I think David Wilcock of Divine Cosmos has done a great job of connecting the dots using the evidence in our physical world and known scientific findings, and his research is quite extensive. Steve’s site is a news blog, where you’ll find news and information about the events in our world that you won’t find in the mainstream news media. Just see how you think and feel about the information you encounter, and feel free to throw out or accept any part of it. Your discernment is necessary, as is your responsibility in choosing what you believe.

Yes, a lot of people are reporting humming in the ears. It’s wonderful to get more clues to the nature of the tones I’m hearing– thank you! I’ve never heard the Hindu/Christian perspective of it before, and found it very intriguing. The nature of the tones I’m hearing has “progressed” somewhat since that first night. The music I’ve been hearing are repeating arrangements of notes of harmonic intervals, sometimes sounding like ringing crystals, sometimes like a whole orchestra, and the volume and speed vary quite a bit. I’ve been hearing it on a much more frequent basis since Sept/Oct of last year. I did feel somehow that it was related to the waves of cosmic energies as you mention in your explanation. It has awakened my interest in sound and music theory, and I hope to do a post on it once I can wrap my head around it.

Yes, I read of your recent “vibrating” experience and slip into the higher world with much delight. There seem to be more and more reports of “bleed-throughs” of the higher-consciousness world into our material world- a sure sign that we’re on our way! Woo-hoo! –Hui Sun

I read your spiritual experience this evening. Interestingly enough I just went through an experience of “vibrating” a day ago. I’m therefore not surprised to have been led to your account.

But the real reason I’m writing is to comment on the ringing you hear. Paramahansa Yogananda called that ringing sound the universal creative vibration known to Hindus as Aum and to Christians as the Amen. The passage in which he describes it at length appears in his SRF course notes, which he did not want copied. But the subject is also touched on generally in Yogananda’s book The Second Coming of Christ:

“The intelligent holy vibration, or the first manifestation of God the Father, … manifests as the cosmic sound of Aum, or Amen, which can be heard in meditation.” (Paramahansa Yogananda, Second Coming of Christ, 1, 17.)

“The Cosmic Energy, or Vibration, … has a voice of Cosmic Sound which is called Amen by Christians or Om by Hindus. This Amen is the faithful witness in the beginning of creation — that is, all vibrating creation is accompanied by the Cosmic Sound of Amen or Om or the Word or Holy Ghost, which is the first vibrating manifestation of God.” (Paramahansa Yogananda, SCC, 2, 22.)

I hear that ringing sound constantly and I just acknowledge it as the Divine Mother, Shakti, Aum, the Holy Spirit. It has so many names – the sound of many waters, the Voice in the Wilderness, the Logos, the Word of God, Solomon’s “Wisdom,” Procreatrix/Prakriti, etc. If the Holy Father is stillness and silence, the Divine Mother is movement and sound.
